Schools in Caterham

Cut into a dry valley on the dip slope of the North Downs, Caterham sits within the Tandridge district of Surrey around six miles south of Croydon. Some 21,000 people lived here at the 2011 census.

The town divides between Caterham Valley, whose main centre occupies the valley floor, and Caterham on the Hill to the west, where school catchments draw families competing for primary places. Woldingham and Chaldon extend the school-competitive belt into the surrounding countryside, with Whyteleafe forming a lower residential tier to the north. Caterham Valley station connects directly to London Bridge via the branch line in roughly thirty minutes.
