Schools in Colne

A former cotton-weaving town at the foot of the Pennines in northeast Lancashire, Colne sits close to the southern entrance to the Aire Gap and has served the Pendle parishes as a market centre for centuries. Around 18,000 people live across the town today.

Laneshaw Bridge, to the east, is among the most sought-after pockets for primary catchments in the Borough of Pendle, with the school-competitive streets running through Colne's town centre drawing families from across the valley. Red Lane, Trawden, and Waterside extend the residential reach towards the open moorland fringe. Colne station is the terminus of the East Lancashire railway line, with services reaching Burnley in around fifteen minutes and continuing towards Manchester Victoria.
