Schools in Fleetwood

At the north-western tip of the Fylde peninsula, where the River Wyre opens towards Morecambe Bay, Fleetwood occupies a distinctive coastal position in Lancashire's Borough of Wyre. The town was laid out in the 1830s by landowner Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood, who commissioned Victorian architect Decimus Burton to design its streets and civic buildings, including two working lighthouses. Around 26,000 people live here today.

Rossall, on the northern fringe, is among the more sought-after pockets for primary school catchments, while Mount is a further school-competitive stretch to the south of the town centre. Larkholme forms the eastern residential edge, served by the Blackpool Tramway running south to Blackpool North, where trains reach Preston in around thirty minutes.
