Schools in Orpington

Inter-war semi-detached avenues and Edwardian terraces fan out from a compact town centre in Orpington, one of thirty-five major centres in the London Plan, on the southeastern edge of Greater London in the London Borough of Bromley. Around 90,000 people live across the area today.

Crofton has long been among Orpington's most school-competitive corners, drawing families who prioritise state secondary options, while Chelsfield to the south retains a village character that makes it one of the borough's sought-after pockets for primary catchments. Petts Wood, developed largely in the 1920s and 1930s after the arrival of the railway, extends the residential belt northward across the borough. Southeastern trains from Orpington station reach London Bridge in around twenty minutes on the Sevenoaks line.
