Named for Saint Oswald of Northumbria, killed at the Battle of Maserfield in 642 AD, Oswestry has carried more than thirteen centuries of Anglo-Welsh borderland character into its market streets in north Shropshire, five miles from the Welsh border. Gobowen and Weston Rhyn form the school-competitive corridor to the north, where families target primary and secondary places across a varied local offer, while Oswestry's own catchment draws consistent demand from parents across the town.
