Schools in Oswestry

The population stands at around 17,000.

Named for Saint Oswald of Northumbria, killed at the Battle of Maserfield in 642 AD, Oswestry has carried more than thirteen centuries of Anglo-Welsh borderland character into its market streets in north Shropshire, five miles from the Welsh border. Gobowen and Weston Rhyn form the school-competitive corridor to the north, where families target primary and secondary places across a varied local offer, while Oswestry's own catchment draws consistent demand from parents across the town. Morda and Selattyn extend the residential belt southward, and Gobowen station carries services to Shrewsbury in around thirty minutes on the Shrewsbury to Chester line.
