Nursery sessions plus The Little Adventurers Hub give Millbrook a practical identity: early education with care before and afterwards. The nursery welcomes children aged 2, 3 and 4 at Millbrook Primary School and Nursery on Grainger Drive in Leegomery, Telford. Families can choose eligible 15-hour or 30-hour sessions, subject to availability. The school says it tries to fit attendance around parents’ working patterns.
The Little Adventurers Hub extends the nursery day with time for play, learning and friendships before and after nursery sessions. Introduced in September 2025 specifically for nursery children, it operates between 7:45 am and 5:45 pm. For working families, that creates a longer care window around early education.
Flexibility also includes additional or extended sessions that families can purchase when places are available. These are separate practical choices from the eligible 15-hour and 30-hour patterns, so the combination matters when planning a child’s week.
Early Years Talk Boost is among Millbrook’s targeted support programmes, alongside help with speech and language and the development of fine and gross motor skills. The school’s SEND provision also includes Speech and Language Therapy and the Early Years ISF among its external partners. These give families specific support routes to discuss when a child needs help with communication or development.
Support follows an Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle. Parents contribute to agreed outcomes and provision, with teachers reviewing plans half-termly and meetings involving parents and the SEND co-ordinator taking place termly. That gives families a recurring opportunity to discuss progress and adjust support. Across the school, staff training includes paediatric first aid and Talk Boost; these are team training areas rather than qualifications attributed to every nursery practitioner.
For concerns about special educational needs and disabilities, the SEND & Inclusion team can be contacted on 01952 387640 or MillbrookSEND@taw.org.uk. SEND co-ordinator drop-in sessions take place on Wednesday mornings, from 8:50 am to 9:30 am.
Attending Millbrook’s nursery does not guarantee a Reception place. Families must make a separate Reception application through the normal local authority route. Telford and Wrekin operates school admissions on Millbrook’s behalf.
For children starting school in September 2027, the application period runs from September 2026 to 15 January 2027. Treat that as a separate deadline in the family calendar: booking nursery sessions does not complete the school application.
Both the 15-hour and 30-hour nursery options depend on eligibility and available places. Booking is through the nursery team, which checks eligibility and discusses session choices. Additional sessions can be purchased, also subject to availability; contact the school for current charges.
Wraparound booking. Places at The Little Adventurers Hub are limited and require advance booking. Families relying on the longer care window should arrange this alongside their nursery sessions.
