Schools in Uckfield

Uckfield appears in the Domesday survey of 1086 as a settlement on the River Uck, a tributary draining south through East Sussex into the Ouse. Around 15,000 people live here today.

The town sits on the southern edge of the Weald, with New Town forming the principal residential quarter and drawing families competing for primary places, while Blackboys is widely regarded as one of the more school-competitive corners of the Wealden catchment. The Uckfield Line reaches Oxted for mainline connections, and Brighton lies around thirty minutes by road; Maresfield and High Hurstwood offer quieter village settings for families drawn to the town's schools.
