The inspection captured unusually concrete examples across ages. Babies used textured rolling pins to crush wheat cereal, bringing touch and movement into their exploration. Older children wrote their names and began forming letters correctly, connecting physical control with early literacy. Outdoors, children experimented with mud-and-foam potions and practised climbing and manoeuvring. Children were well behaved and engaged, understood boundaries and developed physical skills through the available challenges. These observations show a day that combined sensory exploration, mark-making and energetic physical play rather than relying on a single kind of activity.

Relationships were a clear asset in July 2021. Staff knew children well, newcomers settled quickly, and communication kept parents informed about learning and development.
