Greentop Centre is a small full-day-care setting at Quakers Course, Lanacre Avenue, Grahame Park. Its latest full Ofsted inspection, in August 2009, judged the provision Good. Two later registration-requirements inspections, in 2015 and 2022, found that requirements continued to be met, although neither observed early-years children or replaced that graded judgement.
The clearest picture is therefore historic rather than a description of today's routine. In August 2009, children were happy, settled and confident with familiar staff, while a purpose-built setting and large outdoor area gave them space for active play.
In August 2009, staff delivered the Early Years Foundation Stage through play planned around children's interests, with children choosing activities and sustaining concentration. In parent terms, the framework's learning and development goals happened through purposeful experiences rather than formal lessons. Children made a doll's house and model planes from recycled materials before a planned RAF museum visit.
The same inspection recorded a practical cooking activity. Children followed a cornflake-cake recipe, weighed ingredients and took turns crushing cornflakes. Outdoors, they climbed, played basketball and ran in the large play area. These observations give the old report real texture, but families should treat them as an inspection-date snapshot rather than a current timetable.
Relationships were a strength in August 2009. Children approached familiar adults confidently, key persons gave parents feedback, and staff were deployed to supervise and support activities. Inspectors also found that staff understood child-protection procedures and how to report concerns.
Healthy fruit and water were provided as snacks at that inspection. Staff promoted hygiene and used positive, age-appropriate behaviour management. The report also identified work to do: assessment and planning needed to respond more closely to individual younger children, self-evaluation needed sharpening, and resources for families who spoke English as an additional language needed development.
The setting is at Quakers Course, Lanacre Avenue, Grahame Park, NW9 5WR. It has 20 places in total. Families need a current provider-specific quotation before comparing costs.
Greentop Centre's historic inspection picture is warm and practical: settled children, purposeful making and cooking, and a large outdoor area all stood out in August 2009. The later registration checks are useful reassurance that requirements were met in 2015 and 2022, but they are not updated judgements on early-years quality. This setting may suit families seeking a small full-day-care provider who are prepared to establish the current attendance model and daily offer directly before deciding.
The August 2009 full inspection judged the provision Good. Registration-requirements inspections in 2015 and 2022 found that requirements continued to be met, but did not observe early-years children or replace the 2009 grade.
The current provider record gives a total capacity of 20 children.
In August 2009, children made recycled-material models before an RAF museum visit, followed a cornflake-cake recipe and used the outdoor area for climbing, basketball and running.
Families should establish the current funded-entitlement arrangements directly with the setting before relying on them in a childcare plan.
Families should ask the setting which current sessions, days and minimum attendance patterns can be booked for their child's age.
