Montessori forms part of the registered name; the inspection-era curriculum means learning through play rather than proof of a separately published method. Calm routines and purposeful independence defined this small London setting at its March 2023 inspection. Ofsted judged it Good, with children separating happily from parents, choosing activities confidently and persisting when tasks became difficult. The setting has 26 places in total at 346 Dollis Hill Lane, London, NW2 6HL.
The available inspection evidence gives the clearest account of daily practice. In March 2023, children painted, cooked imaginatively in the home corner and balanced wooden blocks by size.
In March 2023, everyday play carried early mathematics and language. Staff introduced shapes, helped children count pegs and match sticks to displayed numbers, and added vocabulary to activities. Morning group time covered introductions, the days of the week, weather, kindness and the setting's rules. This play-based curriculum connected counting, language, self-care, creativity, physical movement and understanding the wider world within ordinary activities.
Children also learned about individuality, culture, religions and caring for the environment. Families were invited to celebrate diversity, including by wearing traditional clothing. A good-sized garden supported ball games and ride-on play.
Independence was a clear strength in March 2023. Children selected and tidied activities, put on outdoor clothing and practised fastenings in sequence. Staff worked with parents and external agencies to identify needs promptly and plan support for children with special educational needs and disabilities. Parents received learning updates and were invited to give feedback.
Safeguarding arrangements were effective at the inspection. Staff understood signs of abuse and reporting procedures, while daily risk assessments helped minimise hazards. Two improvement points remain useful context: adults sometimes moved through questions too quickly for children to develop answers, and staff knowledge of promoting healthy eating needed further development.
The registered address is 346 Dollis Hill Lane, London, NW2 6HL. Families need a current nursery quotation and written terms for attendance, funding, meals and consumables.
This setting should suit families who value a small-scale environment where independence, cultural understanding and practical play are prominent. The strongest evidence is inspection-dated rather than a current published offer, so a visit should focus on how those strengths and improvement points look now, alongside the attendance pattern required.
