In June 2024, staff planned age-appropriate experiences that built on what children already knew. The Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), England’s statutory early-years framework, covers broad areas of learning and development; here, the curriculum linked conversation, stories, movement, early writing and mathematics through play rather than treating them as isolated lessons.

The detail is memorable. Children named herbs while mixing them into play dough and connected a healthy-eating discussion with an earlier Hungry Caterpillar display. Number songs developed counting, while mathematical language introduced size and position. Physical activity and first steps in writing were both purposeful, giving children different ways to develop movement control and practise letter forms.

Relationships were a firm strength in June 2024. Staff knew children well, helping them feel emotionally settled, and daily sequences enabled children to anticipate what came next. Practitioners modelled sharing, turn-taking and kindness. That combination matters for children who need predictable routines before they can explore confidently.

Safeguarding arrangements were effective at the June 2024 inspection. Inspectors found that prompt additional support helped children with special educational needs and/or disabilities progress well. Parents valued the team's helpful manner and information for extending learning at home.
