Schools in Bodmin

On the south-western fringe of Bodmin Moor, Bodmin has served as the centre of Cornish civic life for centuries, designated the county town in 1838 when the main courts moved from Launceston. Truro eventually took that role.

The civil parish of around 17,000 people corresponds closely to the built-up town, and families researching schools in central Cornwall consistently treat Bodmin as the focal point for state school competition, with catchments reaching into Cardinham to the east and drawing interest from Callywith and Luxulyan to the south.
