Schools in Bridport

For centuries the rope-making heartland of England, Bridport is a market town in West Dorset where the River Brit and the Asker converge one and a half miles inland from the English Channel. Saxon origins underpinned a long trade in nets and cordage; today an arts centre, theatre, cinema and museum shape its public life. West Bay, the small fishing harbour, lies on the coast within the town's own boundary. Symondsbury draws families seeking rural primary catchments, while Salway Ash and Burton Bradstock extend the residential fringe. Around 12,000 people lived there at the 2021 census.
