Schools in Brighouse

Named for a bridge-house that once stood on the River Calder, Brighouse grew from a hamlet of Rastrick into a market town in the metropolitan borough of Calderdale in West Yorkshire, where the Calder and Hebble Navigation mooring basin still marks its centre. Brighouse station on the Caldervale and Huddersfield Lines connects to Halifax in around fifteen minutes and to Leeds via Huddersfield. The wider area counts around 32,000 residents. Brighouse and Rastrick together form a dual-centred pocket that draws families competing for primary places along this stretch of the Calder Valley, with Hove Edge and Bailiff Bridge extending the residential catchment to the north and east.
