Schools in Huddersfield

Where the River Holme meets the River Colne in the foothills of the Pennines, Huddersfield serves as the administrative centre of Kirklees in West Yorkshire, shaped by wool and worsted textile manufacturing that drove its Victorian expansion. Around 163,000 people lived in the town at the 2011 census, making it the largest settlement in the Kirklees district.

Its railway station, a Grade I listed structure that John Betjeman called the finest station façade in England, connects to Leeds in around twenty-five minutes and Manchester in forty via the TransPennine Express.
