Schools in Dover

A port town shaped by tides and cross-Channel traffic, Dover is home to around 31,000 residents on the southeast Kent coast, where the Strait of Dover narrows to just twenty-one miles between England and France. The White Cliffs form the area's most recognisable landmark, and the Port of Dover, named like the town for the River Dour that runs through the centre, has defined local life since the Roman era.

Eythorne and Priory are among the school-competitive corners of the district, drawing families in pursuit of state-school places at both primary and secondary level. Temple Ewell and Shepherdswell lie in the quieter rural hinterland to the northwest. Southeastern high-speed services reach Canterbury in around twenty minutes.
