Schools in Hartlepool

A port town of around 88,000 on County Durham's North Sea coast, Hartlepool stretches from the Headland, its ancient core clustered around the site of a 7th-century abbey on a coastal promontory, to the Victorian railway grid that spread inland after a new dock opened in 1835. The two settlements merged into one borough in 1967.

Elwick is among the most sought-after addresses for school catchments in the borough, while Dyke House and Catcote form a school-competitive belt through the town's western residential quarters. West Park and Greatham extend the family geography south and west, where the borough edges into its rural fringe. Northern Rail links the town to Middlesbrough in around twenty-five minutes and to Newcastle in under an hour.
