Schools in Hull

Yorkshire's maritime city for more than eight centuries, Kingston upon Hull stands where the River Hull meets the Humber Estuary, a port that shaped English trade from wool exports and whaling to deep-sea fishing and industrial commerce. William Wilberforce, the city's eighteenth-century Member of Parliament, led the parliamentary campaign that abolished the British slave trade. Around 275,000 people live within the city today.

The Avenues, a grid of leafy Victorian streets west of the centre, is among the most sought-after neighbourhoods for primary and secondary school catchments in Hull, with Bricknell and Bransholme forming two of the city's most established residential quarters for families competing for school places. Spring Cottage Estate and Clifton extend the family residential belt further north and east. Hull Paragon Interchange is the city's principal rail hub, with regular services across the East Yorkshire network and direct trains to Leeds.
