Schools in Marlborough

The wide high street is medieval in origin. Marlborough's coaching and market town history gave it one of the widest high streets in England, still dominated by an arcaded market place.

A compact Wiltshire market town of around nine thousand, Marlborough sits on the River Kennet where the Old Bath Road crosses Wiltshire's chalk downland. Granham Hill and Aldbourne are the area's most sought-after catchments for school-age families, while the villages of Ramsbury and Great Bedwyn extend the residential spread into the downland to the east and south. For mainline rail, residents travel to Swindon, ten miles northwest, for services to London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads on the Great Western Main Line.
