Schools in Ryde

A Victorian resort town of around 24,000 on the Isle of Wight's north-east shore, Ryde grew from the nineteenth-century merger of the villages of Upper and Lower Ryde into a single seaside settlement.

The pier stretching from the town's seafront is the fourth longest in the United Kingdom and the oldest surviving, carrying the Island Line railway south toward Shanklin and the ferry service to Portsmouth Harbour, a crossing of around twenty minutes. Ryde's central residential streets are among the most sought-after on the island for primary school catchments, while Binstead, to the west, draws families looking for a quieter school-competitive corner. St Helens lies along the eastern approach.
