Schools in Southsea

Victorian terraces and the seafront fortress of Southsea Castle, raised in 1544, line the southern edge of Portsmouth on Portsea Island in Hampshire, where a fashionable resort took shape from the 1820s around what was then called Croxton Town. South Parade Pier opened in 1879.

Southsea is among Portsmouth's most sought-after districts for school catchments, and Craneswater, with its broad Edwardian avenues, draws families competing for primary and secondary places, while Eastney extends east toward the shingle shoreline. Around 19,000 people live across the district, and Portsmouth & Southsea station connects to the South Western Main Line with services to Southampton Central taking around fifty minutes.
