Schools in Trowbridge

On the River Biss in west Wiltshire, Trowbridge is the county town, home to around 37,000 residents spread across the urban area and the surrounding Biss valley settlements. Woollen cloth once defined the town. The Kennet and Avon Canal arrived in the late eighteenth century, carrying Somerset coal northward to power the mills that established Trowbridge as the foremost centre of woollen cloth production in south-west England.

Studley Green and Wingfield rank among the most school-competitive addresses for families seeking primary places, while Semington, to the north-east, draws parents to a quieter village catchment. Hilperton and Staverton extend the residential edge, while Great Western Railway services from Trowbridge station reach Bath Spa in around twenty minutes.
