Schools in Ulverston

Stan Laurel's birthplace and one of Furness's oldest chartered market towns, Ulverston occupies the Furness Peninsula in Westmorland and Furness, a few miles south of the Lake District National Park with Morecambe Bay opening to the east. The Hoad Monument commands the ridge. Around 12,000 people live in the town today, with Great Urswick and Pennington forming the settled countryside fringe to the south.

Ulverston is widely regarded as one of the most school-competitive small towns in the area, drawing families to its primary and secondary catchments from across the peninsula. The Furness Line connects Ulverston station to Lancaster, the nearest city, in around fifty minutes.
