Schools in Wellington

At the foot of the Blackdown Hills in Somerset, Wellington is a compact market town of around 14,000 residents, settled at least since the Domesday survey of 1086. West Buckland and Sampford Arundel lie to the south.

The M5 motorway crosses the eastern edge at junction 26, placing Taunton and its Great Western Railway connections to Bristol within ten minutes. Wellington's own streets are among the most sought-after postcodes for primary catchments in Taunton Deane, while Ashbrittle, a quiet village four miles to the west, has long been a school-competitive corner of the area for families weighing rural character alongside state provision. Above the town stands the Wellington Monument, an obelisk connecting this Somerset market town to the Duke who took his title from its name.
