Schools in Whitley Bay

Redrawn from Northumberland into the borough of North Tyneside in 1974, Whitley Bay occupies the North Sea coast around ten miles north-east of Newcastle upon Tyne, its seafront defined by the Spanish City's domed cupola and the white tower of St Mary's Lighthouse standing off its own tidal island. Around 38,000 people live in the town today. South Wellfield and Marden complete the quieter inland residential spread.

Monkseaton is widely regarded as one of the most school-competitive neighbourhoods in the area, drawing families who seek strong catchment access across primary and secondary phases. Whitley Bay station on the Tyne and Wear Metro connects the town to Newcastle city centre in around twenty-five minutes.
