Schools in Godalming

One of Surrey's smaller market towns, with around 23,000 residents settled in a valley fold of the River Wey, Godalming occupies the Borough of Waverley in south-west Surrey. South Western Railway services from Godalming station reach London Waterloo in under fifty minutes. Hurtmore and Busbridge, lying south-west of the centre, are among the most sought-after pockets for school catchments, while Charterhouse, the hilltop quarter north of the town, has long been a school-competitive corner for secondary places. Binscombe and Broadwater extend the residential belt northward. The town has Saxon roots, with settlement first established above the Wey floodplain in the sixth or seventh century.
