Schools in Brentwood

Red-brick streets and Victorian shopfronts follow the line of a Roman road through the centre of Brentwood, a market town in Essex sitting just outside the M25 where open woodland presses close to the residential edges. Shenfield, an eastern terminus of the Elizabeth line, draws families competing for primary and secondary catchments and is widely regarded as the most school-competitive corner of the borough. South Weald, on the wooded hillside to the northwest, is among the most sought-after semi-rural pockets for school catchments. Mountnessing extends the residential spread southward. Around 55,000 people lived in the built-up area at the 2021 census, and Greater Anglia services from Brentwood station reach London Liverpool Street in around forty minutes.
