Schools in Hackney, London

Formed in 1965 from the former Metropolitan Boroughs of Hackney, Stoke Newington, and Shoreditch, the London Borough of Hackney stretches from the northern edge of the City of London to the Lea Valley in the east. Stamford Hill, home to one of Europe's largest Orthodox Jewish communities, gives the northwest a distinctly settled character, while the former Olympic Quarter to the east recalls the borough's role as a 2012 host. Some 281,000 people live across the borough today.

Mare Street remains the civic and commercial spine, with South Hackney and Clapton carrying some of the most school-competitive catchments in the borough, particularly for primary places. London Overground services connect residents through Hackney Central and Dalston Junction.
